Overall Accountability
The Culinary Arts Assistant supports students and teachers in the Culinary Arts Program.
Specific Accountabilities
- Assists Commercial Cook/Food Service Coordinator and Culinary Arts teacher(s) in the supervision of students
- Records data concerning food sales, student information, etc.
- Assists with production of food items for the school cafeteria and catering events
- Provides guidance to students on basic recipes and skills
- Handles daily cafeteria financial tasks (receives proper daily floats from Business Manager, maintains records and balances daily cash outs)
- Operates cash register during cafeteria service periods
- Handles the distribution, inventory and assignment of student uniforms
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Completion of one (1) year of Cook Apprenticeship training or equivalent commercial food service experience
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Good interpersonal skills
