Marketing Coordinator (15-Month Maternity Leave Coverage)

We’re seeking a Marketing Coordinator who is energized by storytelling, campaign strategy and meaningful community impact – and who respects and supports the mission and values of Catholic education.

You’ll be at the heart of our fundraising and communications, shaping campaigns, events and donor experiences. From social media strategy to content creation and video storytelling, this is a hands-on role where your ideas and creativity can shine.


What We Offer


• Salary: $45,000 annual salary
• Start Date: March 2026
• Term: 15-month fixed-term contract (maternity leave coverage)
• Benefits: Health, dental, and prescription drug plan after 3 months
• Time off: 2 weeks’ vacation + 19 additional paid closure days
• Summer schedule: Fridays off in the summer

• Work model: Hybrid – flexible based on business needed
• Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time hours (37.5 hours/week). Occasional evenings/weekends required for events; time off in lieu provided

Who we are


The Calgary Catholic Education Foundation (CCEF) is a faith-rooted charitable foundation that strengthens publicly funded Catholic education by providing enhanced learning opportunities for students in the Calgary Catholic School District. We raise philanthropic support and direct it into meaningful impact—funding initiatives that nurture students’ spiritual, academic, and personal growth in a Christ-centered learning environment.
Through donations, grants, and partnerships, we help equip schools, classrooms, and students with resources and experiences that go beyond core funding—supporting priorities such as safe and caring faith-filled schools, social justice, leadership/stewardship development, and leading-edge learning opportunities.


Key Duties and Responsibilities


Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the duties and the responsibilities of the Marketing Coordinator includes, but is not limited to, the following:


Fundraising Campaigns & Communications


• day-to-day marketing and communications that advance fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, sponsorship recognition, and event promotion;
• Works closely with senior leadership and external stakeholders to bring initiatives to life;
• Contributes creative and innovative ideas to enhance campaign and donor engagement;
• Coordinates and executes campaigns across email, social media, website updates, and print collateral;
• Drafts, edits, and proofreads donor-facing communications ensuring clarity, accuracy, and mission-alignment; and
• Supports donor engagement initiatives and contributes new ideas to enhance alumni and community participation.


Content Creation & Brand Consistency


• Creates and adapts marketing assets in Canva (digital and print-ready);
• Coordinates social media scheduling and basic engagement support;
• Supports brand strategy and ensures messaging and creative assets are consistent across all channels; and
• Creates briefs and coordinates assets with internal and external teams.


Events & Sponsorship Support


• Supports event promotion and event communications (registrations, reminders, collateral, and follow-up);
• Coordinates event materials including signage, programs, sponsor slides, run-of-show items, and thank-you communications; and
• Supports sponsor recognition deliverables and liaises with sponsors and vendors to ensure timelines and benefits are met.


Data Management & Reporting


• Tracks timelines, budgets, lists, and reporting metrics for campaigns, events and donor communications in Microsoft Excel;
• Builds, segments, schedules and reports on email campaigns, including Constant Contact lists, templates and performance tracking;
• Supports fundraising workflows, events, campaigns, and communications lists using Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT (RENXT); and
• Maintains accurate records of donor and leadership interactions, ensuring confidential and sensitive information.


Website Management


• Manages and updates theccef.ca using WordPress, ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with CCEF’s brand and campaigns;
• Creates and publishes new pages and campaign landing pages;
• Uploads and formats stories, blogs, event information, and multimedia content;
• Monitors website analytics using Google Analytics and provides insights to improve user experience and campaign performance; and

• Coordinates website updates in support of fundraising initiatives and donor engagement.
Other
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
Training expectations

 

The successful candidate must be willing to complete training through vendor partners (including Blackbaud) to support events, fundraising platforms, and campaign workflows competently.

 

Qualifications:


• Comfortable working in a Catholic, faith-based setting, supportive of the mission and values of Catholic education;
• Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business, PR, fundraising, or a related field;
• One (1) to Three (3) years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, events, fundraising support, or a comparable coordination role;
• Technically savvy and digitally fluent, with experience using marketing, fundraising and content management platforms to execute campaigns, manage websites, track results and support communications including Excel, Canva, WordPress, Constant Contact, Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT (RENXT), Google Analytics, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) required;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent proofreading and attention to detail, and the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with donors, senior leadership, and external partners;
• Strategic and innovative thinker, able to propose new ideas to enhance donor engagement; and
• Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment where campaigns can move quickly and fundraising needs may evolve.
