Overall Accountability

 

The Psychologist, Employee and Family Assistance Program provides psychological counselling, mental health assessment, consultation, referral to outside agencies , service providers, and provides home, hospital and hospice visitations to employees and families.

 

Specific Accountabilities

                                        

•Provides individual, marital and family psychotherapy to employees and their families.

Utilizes evidence informed treatment methods tailored to individual client needs.

• Conducts psychological assessments to guide treatment.

• Provides consultation to administration in the management of employees.

• Coordinates psychological services provided to the Critical Incident Response Team

• Plans employee and family related programs and wellness related programs regarding early intervention and prevention.

• Delivers psychoeducational workshops on various mental health issues.

• Maintains confidential records of client contacts and provides statistical data on a periodic basis regarding plan utilization.

• Consults regularly with Director, Employee and Family Assistance Program

 

 

Qualifications

•Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in clinical or counselling psychology

•Three (3) to five (5) years’ training and/or experience in the areas of psychological assessments, evidenced based treatment modalities,

marriage and family counselling, and addictions counselling.

•Registered professional status with the College of Alberta Psychologists

• Valid Alberta driver’s license and a vehicle in good operating condition

•Familiarity with employee and family assistance programs or wellness programs using assessment and referral models preferred.

• Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative interdisciplinary team.

• Knowledge of community resources
