Overall Accountability
The Senior Systems Analyst is accountable for providing system analysis, design, development, and implementation services to the user departments. This includes maintenance of existing systems and the development of new systems.
Specific Accountabilities
- Provides new application development and enhancement services; develops systems methodology and standards; defines system logic and program specifications based on business requirements
- Maintains and supports existing systems
- Provides project management services on mid to large size project initiatives, including cost/benefit analysis and in-depth problem solving on complex systems/business issues
- Provides training to client groups; develops system manuals and/or help facilities for applications
- Participates in the selection and implementation of packaged software; coordinates testing and installation of software packages
- Assists and facilitates system change management processes and work request prioritizations
- Ensures the confidentiality of financial, employee and student information files
- Provides guidance and mentorship to department staff
Qualifications
- Diploma from a recognized institution
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in business analysis, systems development, implementation and support
- Experience with educational systems, i.e., Student Information Systems, Learning Environment and PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Assists and facilitates system change management processes and work requests and prioritizations
- Ensures the confidentiality of financial, employee and student information files
- Provides guidance and mentorship to department staff
- Proficiency in the development and implementation of medium to large systems
- Demonstrated ability to work with project plan and deliver completed project within assigned timelines
- Solid proficiency with relational database management systems (RDBMS), particularly with MSSQL server and Oracle, C#.Net, ASP.Net, TFS, SSIS, SSRS,
- ArcView GIS, Sharepoint 2013 and/or Sharepoint Online, JavaScript, Office 365 and Responsive web design
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills
